At the age of 16, I was captured and unjustly held in Iran’s most notorious prison, Evin. As a political prisoner, my crime was to read the books that Iranian government deemed banned; to ask questions I was not allowed to ask; and to stand up for my beliefs when no one was allowed to do so. My life as I knew it changed forever and as a result of my imprisonment; I built a much bigger prison inside of me which held me captive in fear, agony, blame, guilt and anger for almost two decades. The invisible walls of my self made prison, kept me from ever experiencing an authentic love relationship, joyous career or even pursuing my passions in life…after all, deep down I was afraid that what I held most dear to me will be taken away once again; so I felt safer not to have all that I wanted in life.
Only when I started to change my focus from lack to abundance I was able to stop giving my power to others and take control of my own destiny. As my outlook changed, I was no longer living as a helpless victim; instead, I started to live as a free-spirited human being who took active part in creating her own world one day at a time.
Coaching played a significant role in helping me break free and awaken to my life’s purpose. As a result, I turned my pain to passion and possibility and started my journey in Personal Development field. I became a life coach to support people in overcoming barriers in their personal and professional life; and to help inspire, enthuse and encourage them to take steps towards living a purposeful, joyous and rewarding life.
I truly believe that my unusual life experience along with my academic education in this field has provided me with strength and confidence to assume such worthy venture.
I can offer up to my clients my integrity, my enthusiasm, my sense of humor and my unique communication style when partnering in their journeys.
As well, I am also an active member of Gaski Performance Group as a coach and a facilitator involved in designing and delivering personal development and business skills courses and workshops. Gaski Performance Group is a Canadian management training and development organization with expertise in leadership, management, professional sales and coaching.
